The Annual governance conference 2009 is the second of our annual governance conferences, merging the previously separately held governors’ and clerks’ conferences.

The shift towards self-regulation is a major challenge for the sector. Although the detailed proposition for self-regulation is currently in the process of being developed by the Single Voice with national partners, by the time of this conference the time will be right for building wide sector and stakeholder understanding and commitment to the self-regulation agenda. This is particularly relevant to governors and clerks as strong governance is a pre-requisite for effective self-regulation.

This site will offer you up to date details about the conference, such as speakers, programme, workshops and details of how to book and the venue. The site will be updated as and when further information becomes available.

You will also be able to find details of last years conference including speeches, workshop materials, and photos from the conference.

This site has been designed and developed for those who attended the event and includes materials for those speakers you may have heard and also for all of the workshops. We have also included a selection of pictures taken over the three days.
