On 1 October 2008, CEL and the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) transferred their operations to the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), the new improvement body dedicated to the development of the FE and skills sector. LSIS will continue to provide CEL and QIA programmes and honour existing contracts until the end of July 2009. Information about all CEL programmes and activities now being run by LSIS will be published on this website.
Vote now in the LSIS Council elections 2009
A year after its launch, LSIS has announced the first open, sector–led elections for its Council. Thirty members of the new Council will be elected from within the constituent members of the Single Voice. Each Single Voice member has an allocation of Council places to ensure a broad representation of the sector itself. Leading the Learner Voice Awards shortlist announced 
New safeguarding and safer recruitment training dates

LSIS has announced the shortlist for its 2009 Leading the Learner Voice Awards. Now in their third year, the Awards celebrate the achievements that individuals and organisations in the FE and skills sector have made in embedding the learner voice.

These masterclasses provide expert guidance on how to use the Visible and Valued sexual orientation equality staff training DVD. Participants will receive a free copy of the DVD, which helps organisations meet legal requirements and plan how to use the DVD. Read more
