Subsidy policy
As part of its ongoing and expanding diversity and equality remit from DIUS, the LSIS subsidy policy provides subsidised places on its range of individual development programmes and events as follows:
100 per cent for black and minority ethnic (BME) participants
100 per cent for disabled participants
100 per cent for lesbian, gay or bisexual participants
50 per cent for work-based learning (WBL) providers
50 per cent for adult and community learning (ACL) providers
25 per cent for independent specialist colleges and LSC-funded colleges catering wholly for young adults with special educational needs.
A limited number of subsidised places are available through LSIS in any financial year as they are funded by a finite budget from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
