Subsidy policy


As part of its ongoing and expanding diversity and equality remit from DIUS, the LSIS subsidy policy provides subsidised places on its range of individual development programmes and events as follows:
  • 100 per cent for black and minority ethnic (BME) participants
  • 100 per cent for disabled participants
  • 100 per cent for lesbian, gay or bisexual participants
  • 50 per cent for work-based learning (WBL) providers
  • 50 per cent for adult and community learning (ACL) providers
  • 25 per cent for independent specialist colleges and LSC-funded colleges catering wholly for young adults with special educational needs.
A limited number of subsidised places are available through LSIS in any financial year as they are funded by a finite budget from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

How to apply


Delegates wishing to apply for a subsidy should follow these steps:

1. Check the guidance notes on the eligible categories to ensure you are eligible to claim.

2. Complete the following form, ensuring you complete the Equality and diversity monitoring section:

3. Return both completed forms, marked for the relevant programme/event contact's attention, by post or fax to:

4. On recieving your subsidy request it will be processed after the individual has been accepted on to their specified programme/event and then will be notified soon after if their subsidy request has been successful.
